A Startup Built Around Connection, Culture and Giving Back
Welcome2OurWedding was founded by two brothers, Yash and Arya, out of a shared passion for connecting people and celebrating love. The platform opens real wedding celebrations to travellers worldwide, giving them an immersive look at traditions, rituals and hospitality, while supporting transparent, tourism-driven charitable initiatives.
It is a genuinely two-sided idea. Couples need to trust the platform with a deeply personal event, and guests need enough information to book with confidence. Both sides had to be served by one website, with a very different set of worries on each.
One Platform, Two Audiences, Several Trust Problems
Before any design or code, the brief was reduced to a simple question: what must be true for a couple to list their wedding, and for a stranger to book a place at it? The answers shaped everything that followed.
- Couples needed reassurance that exact wedding locations and private details would never be public
- Guests needed clear information about events, dates, dress code and arrangements before paying
- Listings had to be reviewed and approved before going live, without becoming a slow manual burden
- The site had to serve audiences in India and abroad, with contact routes for both
- Cultural content (Indian weddings, rituals and traditions) had to attract visitors who had no booking intent yet
Mapping the Host-to-Guest Journey Before Designing a Single Page
As the business process analyst on this project, DesignsWow documented the full lifecycle of a wedding listing, from the moment a couple registers to the moment a guest is welcomed. Each stage was checked for who acts, what information changes hands, and where trust could break.
- Couple registersFree sign-up and profile creation, with the listing form guiding the couple through the details.
- Listing is reviewedThe team emails the couple to verify the submitted details before anything is published.
- Couple approvesThe couple explicitly approves the listing, within a 7 calendar day window, before it goes live.
- Guest discoversVisitors browse Upcoming Weddings and learn through Indian Weddings and Rituals & Traditions content.
- Guest booksRegistered guests complete a booking, which unlocks the private location and event details.
- Couple is notifiedAn email notification reaches the couple, who can thank guests and share updates.
- Day-of supportA nominated ceremony guide helps guests with queries about schedule, dress code and arrangements.
Privacy as a Process Rule
Exact location and private details are shown only to guests who have completed a booking. This was treated as a business rule from day one and then carried into the page design and access logic.
Approval Gate
Publishing requires the couple's explicit approval after review. The process analysis made this a defined step with a deadline instead of an informal email exchange.
Role Separation
Couples (hosts) and travellers (guests) were defined as separate roles with their own entry points: “Become Host” and “Be Our Guest”.
Policy and Compliance Pages
Privacy Policy, Terms and Conditions, Refund and FAQ pages were planned as part of the booking process, because a marketplace handling bookings and personal data needs them live at launch.
Designing for Trust, Warmth and Clarity
A wedding platform has to feel celebratory, yet a booking platform has to feel dependable. The interface balances both: warm, image-led storytelling for discovery, and plain, structured information wherever a decision or a payment is involved.
Two Clear Doors
Primary navigation separates the guest path (Be Our Guest, Upcoming Weddings) from the host path (Become Host), so neither audience has to hunt for their entry point.
Image-Led Home Page
A hero slider of wedding imagery opens the site, followed by the brand story, so visitors feel the idea before they read the details.
Host Onboarding as a Story
The Become Host page walks couples through seven numbered steps with an illustration for each: register, review bookings, approve listing, next steps, privacy, ceremony guide and gifts. The page answers a host's objections in the order they usually arise.
Sign-In Without Leaving the Page
Sign In, Register and Reset Password open as modal dialogs from any page, so a visitor can create an account without losing their place.
Contact for Two Regions
Phone numbers for India and the USA sit in the top bar with flag icons, alongside email and a WhatsApp chat button, so guests abroad and in India can both reach the team easily.
Responsive on Every Device
Navigation collapses into a mobile menu, and content blocks reflow for phones and tablets. Guests are likely to browse on mobile while travelling, so small screens were treated as a priority.
A Marketplace Built on WordPress and WooCommerce
WordPress was chosen so the founders can manage content themselves, from rituals articles to upcoming weddings, without developer help. WooCommerce provides the commerce foundation for bookings, and a listing submission module lets couples create their own wedding listings.
WordPress Content Management
Dedicated pages for Indian Weddings, Rituals and Traditions, Upcoming Weddings, About, FAQ, Blog and Contact, all editable by the team.
Listing Submission
A “Register Your Wedding” flow lets couples submit a listing that then follows the review and approval process.
WooCommerce Foundation
Shop and cart components support the booking and payment side of the platform.
User Accounts and Modals
Login, registration with email, password and phone number, consent to terms, and password reset, all in modal forms.
Hero Image Slider
A responsive image slider carries the home page banners, set up for easy replacement of images by the team.
Communication Channels
Email, regional phone numbers and a floating WhatsApp button give guests several ways to ask questions before booking.

Separate, easy entry points for couples and for travellers
Privacy of wedding location built into the booking process
A seven-step host onboarding page that answers the questions couples ask first

Business Process First, Then Design, Then Code
Welcome2OurWedding is a good example of how DesignsWow approaches a new idea. The process was mapped first, so privacy, approval and guest support were treated as real business rules. The interface was then designed around those rules, and the website built on WordPress and WooCommerce so the founders stay in control of their content as the platform grows.
